Why isn't my YouTube video getting views?
Usually it's one of three things: the topic isn't what your viewers want, the title and thumbnail don't get clicks, or people leave early. MakeNext compares each video with your own channel's average so you can see which one it is — and what to make next instead.

Example
SampleExample: a small Shorts channel
- Your usual Short: 398 views in the first week
- 🔥 "Stone Shrine" — 2.9× your average
- 🧊 Bridge builds — 0.5× your average
- ⏱ Shorts over 60 s do best for you
The three usual reasons
Look at them in this order — each one points to a different fix:
- Topic: similar videos on your channel also did below your average → make more of what beats it
- Packaging: few people click the thumbnail/title → test a clearer title and thumbnail
- Retention: people leave in the first seconds → show the payoff first
Compare with yourself, not with big channels
Comparing with a channel 100× your size tells you little. MakeNext only compares your videos with your own average, using YouTube's numbers, and labels every comparison as our calculation — it's not a YouTube metric and never uses revenue data.

Questions
Why does my YouTube video get no views?
Very new videos and channels often get few views at first. Compare the video with your own average after its first week — if similar topics also do worse, change the topic, not just the thumbnail.
What data do you use?
Your own channel's YouTube numbers (views, % watched, subscribers gained, retention), read-only. Never revenue, never other channels.
Do you need my password?
No. You connect through Google's own screen with read-only access, and you can disconnect anytime — we delete the data.
Is it free?
Building your What's working page is free for connected channels; you can refresh it twice a day.
